HISTORY OF LIBERTY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

Liberty Christian Fellowship was birthed during a time of fasting and prayer in the winter of 1984. Pastor Bob and Frieda were seeking the heart of God for the year in regard to ministry. They spent four years pastoring in El Dorado, Arkansas and four years traveling in full time ministry prior to 1984. During the fast Pastor Bob sensed the spirit of God directing him to found a non-denominational church in Cleveland. It was to be a house of prayer for the nations with freedom to worship God.

They opened the doors on Mother's Day, 1984 and had thirty six people in attendence. Services were held in a rented store front building in the heart of Cleveland. Within two years a local bank approached them about a building to lease. They moved to their present location and later were able to purchase the building and acreage from the bank. The church was completely debt free in ten years after the purchase.

Today, Liberty is filled with people from all walks of life and different cultures. The heart of the church is the prayer room and the weekly services are held to minister to every age group. Several hundred now call Liberty home and the outreach from this church goes literally to the nations of the world.

Over the last ten years several teams have gone on short term missions. Teams have traveled to Haiti, Africa, England, and Central America. Locally, the church has been the distribution point for Operation Blessing and Hunger Strike Force for this area.
