Lewis Station Winery is a family owned winery and boutique wine shop in the heart of downtown Lake Mills, Wisconsin. The winery has the look and feel of an old vintage gas station, but has all of the ammenities of a new world class micro-winery. Many of the wines produced and bottled by Lewis Station are Gold and Silver award winners in the World Wine Competition and the Finger Lakes Region Wine competition.

Our Story

In 2008, Rob Lewis and his wife Michelle, the manager of Lewis Station, started a boutique wine shop, the Wine Vineyard of Lake Mills. The wine shop specialized in finding premium wines from around the globe and to offer them at a very fair price.

As the business continued to grow, Rob Lewis attended Le Cordon Bleu and became a Certified Sommelier. "The goal for the certification was not to work in fine dining, but to provide me with the skills and training to open my own wine school." Lewis said. With this training, Lewis opened the Wisconsin Wine School and started teaching wine appreciation and food and wine courses.

During this time, Lewis was crafting wines in his basement working on the blends and wines that Lewis Station Winery now offers. Rob learned the wine-making craft (called Enology) by attending the University of Missouri. Rob also attended Ashworth College to refine his Culinary skills. As a result, simple - gourmet foods are available (on occasion and seasonally) at the winery. Foods are always prepared with wine pairings in mind.

In 2010, Rob and Michelle had a chance encounter with a local couple, Russ and Linda Roedl, and through this relationship, a new location was secured and the boutique wine shop relocated to the current address and became Lewis Station Winery in the summer of 2011.

Our winery continues to grow with over 18 different wine varietals and 10 olive oils and vinegars to taste. We hope you find the time to pay us and visit and try our wines. Cheers!
