Leicester Elementary School is a part of the Buncombe County Schools system and is located in the Erwin district. Our district covers the entire northwestern corner of Buncombe County, North Carolina. We serve about 520 students from Kindergarten through fourth grade including an intensive intervention classroom. We are also proud to be a Head Start site which serves about twenty additional students.

Leicester Elementary serves the communities of Leicester, Newfound, Sandy Mush and portions of French Broad. Our district borders Haywood and Madison counties. Our school is centrally located at 31 Gilbert Road off of Leicester Highway (NC 63) about 9 miles northwest of Asheville.
