Farm Philosophy

There is a reason for everything. Every once in a while people who have known us for a long time will ask us why we farm. What drives us to do this is summed up in the Mission Statement of the Business Plan we developed when we participated in the Maine Department of Agriculture’s Farms For The Future program. So, here’s the Mission Statement:

To Delight The Palate

While we agree that providing good quality food to our community, using sustainable agricultural practices, maintaining open spaces, and preserving the agricultural heritage of our community are all important to us, these things are not “why” we farm, they are “how” we farm.

The simple truth is that the reason we farm is to provide the freshest, best tasting farm products to our customers, the people who live in our community, at reasonable prices.
