LaPoynor ISD, the home of the “Flyers”, is a wonderful place to educate children. It is located on U.S. Highway 175 overlooking the valley of Caddo Creek, fifteen miles from Athens in southeastern Henderson County. We service students from LaRue, New York, Poynor, and other area townships with tremendous support from the community. LaPoynor ISD is in the process of building a new Junior High, and competition gymnasium, with plans to expand and upgrade other facilities throughout the district. Our mission is to provide students with the absolute best small school educational experience in Texas.
