History:

The details of the beginning history of our club are very sketchy.  There were bits and pieces organized in 1913, but it really organized in 1921.  On October 18, 1944 a meeting was held at the Gordon Hillenbrand's home, where it was voted to acquire the Boys Scout Camp from the Lake Linden Village.  This takeover occurred on November 3, 1944.  The deer feeding program was started with just two feeding stations.  Today that number is over eighteen, with many participants and volunteers.  The 50th Anniversary of our club was celebrated in 1973.  The club played an active role in the 100-year celebration of Lake Linden in 1985.  Our club was responsible for hosting the dance held on Saturday at the old ice arena.  We were able to raise $5,000 to help defray the cost of the centennial celebration.  We are active with the boy scouts, providing the clubhouse and other facilities, for their various activities.  The clubhouse has become our home.  We have leased and used the clubhouse for 62 years.  Our current lease expires in 2020.
