History:

The merging of the Zion Mennonite Church and the Bethany Mennonite Church was completed in 1973. The first worship service of the Kingman Mennonite Church was on May 6, 1973.The Bethany Church was organized March 21, 1906. This congregation was started to provide a place for Mennonite families who homesteaded to have a place to worship, fellowship and share in mutuality. The first church building was dedicated on June 9, 1907. The building was destroyed by fire when struck by lightening August 24, 1930. A new church building was dedicated May 29, 1932.The Zion Church was organized December 15, 1929. The church was built in 1936 and the dedication service was held July 11, 1937.On October 11, 1990 the Kingman Mennonite Church building was destroyed by a fire. A new site was selected for the building of the current facility. Ground breaking services were held June 2, 1991. A Cornerstone Dedication was held for the congregation at the new site on June 7, 1992. This was followed by a Church Dedication and Open House on June 28, 1992.
