King Chamber of Commerce

124 South Main Street
336-983-9308

We are small enough to share neighborly attitudes, and we are close enough to access urban opportunities of the metropolitan areas while cherishing the "breathing room" and scenic vistas of a more rural setting. We feel that we have the best of both worlds and we invite you to Come Home to King!

Residents of the King area enjoy hometown values and the friendly practices of a traditional hometown community. Even with the rapid growth that we are experiencing, King has been able to maintain our small town atmosphere. We are noted for our strong sense of community and civic pride and we have been named an "All American Community". Originally a stage coach stop, King was founded as a mail stop in 1888 and after rapid growth in the 1970’s, the town was incorporated in 1983.

The City of King is one of those unique cities that is located in two counties, both Stokes and Forsyth. It is located off US Highway 52 and the future Interstate 74 corridor at exit 123, approximately 12 miles north of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Shopping centers, banks, restaurants and auto service businesses are located on both sides of Main Street as it leads to City Hall and the downtown area.
