Our Mission:

ITNRacineCounty is returning independence and mobility to those 55+ and those with visual impairments! We provide rides in personal, private vehicles anywhere, any time, and for any trip purpose. ITNRacineCounty (Independent Transportation Network) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide dignified community based, community supported, volunteer driven transportation for seniors and the visually impaired. ITNRacineCounty, a non-profit affiliate of the national organization ITNAmerica, provides dignified personal transportation service for seniors 55+ and those with visual impairments. ITNRacineCounty is the 16th affiliate of ITNAmerica and is backed by the resources and branding of its national parent. ITN (Independent Transportation Network?) has created the first national, non-profit transportation network for America's aging population. The model is designed to recreate the comfort and convenience of private automobile ownership. ITN is an innovative and proven model. With the flagship affiliate ITNPortland in place for over 15 years and a current national network of 21 affiliates, more than 350,000 rides have been provided to date.

What We Do:

Riders become dues paying members of ITNRacineCounty and set up pre-paid Personal Transportation Accounts to pay for their rides ? no need to worry about carrying cash or tipping a driver! The average one way ride costs approximately $10.00, and fees are directly debited out of the pre-funded Transportation Account. Riders pay only about half of the true cost of the ride; ITN?s community fundraising efforts and contributions by local sponsors make up the difference to keep rides affordable. Carefully screened volunteers provide personal ?arm-through-arm, door-through-door? service. No curb side drop off or honking here! Volunteers earn mileage reimbursement credits for both the occupied and unoccupied miles they drive. Credits can be saved for personal future rides, transferred to a Member-Rider, forwarded to ITN to assist in sustainability goals, or donated to the Road Scholarship Fund for low income seniors.
