Mission

The Huntingdon County Arts Council is dedicated to providing art and cultural opportunities in Huntingdon County. Our programs are designed to provide enjoyment and enrichment as well as educational and professional opportunities to the general public, students, amateur and professional artists.

About Us:

The Huntingdon County Arts Council (HCAC) was established in 1972 to serve the residents The Art Space of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. Its audience now includes neighboring counties and visitors as collaboration and service expand. A 501-C3 non-profit organization, it receives support from local governments, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, and its membership.

The organization is governed by a board of directors, elected annually with representatives from throughout the county and varied backgrounds. Day-to-day activities are handled by a part-time employed executive director.

HCAC activities vary throughout the year and individual programs and projects are subject to funding availability and continuous review. While some HCAC programs have withstood the test of time, others have evolved to meet new needs and conditions. The HCAC encourages partnerships with other organizations or government entities to allow for maximum cooperation and benefit.

While the majority of HCAC programs are geared towards the enjoyment of the general public, we also serve an active artist community in and around the county. Artists have the opportunity to apply for a fellowship, awarded every two years in a competitive process. We also strive to provide employment opportunities for artists whether at performance venues like Raystown Lake or Greenwood Furnace or for instruction at educational events.
