Honey Island Shooting Range

About Us:

South East Louisiana Firearms Safety (SELFS), Inc. is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation.

Since 1993 SELFS has operated the Honey Island Shooting Range in the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area just outside of Pearl River Louisiana for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

The range is open to the public Friday afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Honey Island Shooting Range Range Safety Officers are NRA Certified Range Safety Officers (RSO) and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Certified Hunters Education Instructors.

Honey Island Shooting Range Range Safety Officers are volunteers and receive no compensation except for the use of the range during non-public hours.

The range serves approximately 20,000 shooters each year.

SELFS has made many improvements to the shooting range including expanding the number of positions on both the rifle and pistol ranges, adding a shotgun range, a learning center, and a solar power system. All of this has been done at NO COST to either the federal or state taxpayers.
