About Us:

Highpointe Baptist Church is an outgrowth of Palestine Baptist Church. The Palestine Baptist Church was organized in 1827 and served the community for many years. In January of 2000 the church structure suffered almost total loss due to fire damage. The majority of the church building structure burned to the ground after falling victim to an arsonist. But all things work together for good to those who love God (Ro 8:28).  Looking back we can say with confidence that God had His mighty hand involved in all of the circumstances the church faced and we can still see the evidence of His work to this day. After evaluating the circumstances the church faced we came together to assess who we were and where we were going as a church fellowship.

After considerable study and prayer we felt the Lord leading us to look beyond ourselves and our present circumstances and to look deeply in the Word of God, seeking His leadership for the future. We were looking ahead toward future growth, not in numbers, but rather Godly growth of believer's being sent as the church had need. We felt He wanted us to have a new beginning and a new, strong Biblical approach, building the church on the foundation of Christ by rightly dividing the Word of God through sound doctrine. The name was changed to Highpointe Baptist Church to reflect a new hope, a new beginning and a new future based upon the vision the Lord had given us.

Since that time we have seen one continuous, ongoing miracle. Our members are part of that miracle as well as each new member God calls to us. Together we are a vital part of what God wants to do in this community. It is our desire to lead, train and serve you to become a greater disciple of Jesus Christ; reaching greater potential in Christ just as God created you to be, continually growing and being edified in His Word.

God is looking for faithfulness and obedience in the body of Christ to bring about a beautiful and powerful unity of believer's. God is more concerned with harmony within the church than sacrificial activity and external programs from the church. Our desire as a council of elders is that we will exemplify Christ to you as we seek to be found faithful and obedient to the Lord. It is time we raise our commitment and vision in order to release the wonderful acts of God among us. For whom shall we be obedient to? To God or to men?

On behalf of the eldership of Highpointe Baptist Church we want you to know we love you and desire to serve you faithfully as we serve Him who loves us all.
