About Harvest:

We are a self-governing, non-denominational congregation, but recognize our unity and accountability with others who also follow Christ and His word (The Bible).

Our intent is to faithfully carry on the message and ministry of Jesus Christ: to proclaim His words and do His works. We want to impact our community in a positive and significant way by our lifestyle, outreach, and service, that others may come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to:
= Loving God.
= Loving others as we have been loved by Jesus Christ.
= Centering all that we do in The Person and work of Jesus Christ.
= Following The Bible as the authoritative word of God.
= Doing all things through prayer.

Harvest Christian Church exists to glorify God. We wish to obey Christ’s command to go into all the world and make disciples. We seek to teach His words, think His thoughts, and communicate His grace and truth to a lost and dying world. We also want to encourage and equip those who have already become Christians that they may continue to mature in the character of Christ. We believe that Christ redeemed us to be His beloved sons and daughters who treasure their reconciled relationship with Him. From that loving relationship flows love for others and acts of service that are irresistible and draw others to Christ.

The church was initially supported by the Northern California Evangelistic Association, a church planting ministry of the non-denominational Christian Churches of Northern California. Beginning with small groups in their home, services began in a small Art Center. As the church grew and became self-sustaining, it met in a skating rink, an elementary school, and then, in it's present location on Nevada Street. Priorities were on small home groups and intimate worship. There was also an emphasis on meeting the needs of the poor and cooperation with other local churches. Harvest began as a church that celebrated God's incredible love and wanted to share that with the rest of the world.
