Happy Hills Alpaca Farm

708 Winding Brook Road

About Us:

We are a small farm bringing emphasis on quality, herd genetics, and genetic diversity. We strive for conformationally correct alpacas with exceptional fleece and our currently bred females have been chosen with this in mind. The service sires are top of the line ribbon winners with notable genetic lines from Hemmingway, Royal Fawn, Microsoft, Monsanto, Scimitar, Hercules, Show Me the Money, Kenamori Gold, and Adagio. We have genetically out-crossed from gene pools from Vermont, Arkansas, Oregon, North Carolina, Virginia, and Illinois to bring in this diversity! We are also members of Alpacas without Borders.

Our goal for our alpacas is to produce fine fleeced alpacas which have extreme density, great crimp and brightness along with the best conformational lines. Our emphasis is on the fiber for our animals and Val is on the AOBA fiber committee. We enter into as many  spin off contests as we can since this is where we think the industry is headed. Our boys and girls have done really well-- especially our new juveniles and crias. Also our herdsire Ivanhoe consistently wins blue ribbons in spin-off contests. He is still totally solid true black which is amazing at his age.

Val also offers classes in spinning, knitting, and felting with alpaca fiber. Once you get your hands on the fineness of alpaca, no other fiber will do. Please call us if we can offer you any of our services.

As for the humans who live on the farm, Valerie (a former naturalist, teacher and real estate salesperson) started out with an Agricultural degree from the University of Wisconsin in Horticulture and a Masters in Science from the University of Colorado. She has longed for the good farm life and has now taken these steps.
