The NIU Tae Kwon Do - Hapkido Korean Martial Arts Club teaches joint locking and pressure point controlling techniques and throws, along with grappling, "ki" internal energy training, kicking and striking techniques with an emphasis on smooth power, and training in a variety of both traditional and modern weapons. It is a truly ancient style that utilizes the most efficient and effective self defense techniques. It is beneficial for both women and men and previous experience in martial arts is not a requirement. You can join at any time.

Classes at the NIU Tae Kwon Do & Hapkido Korean Martial Arts Club are taught by 8th degree black belt International Senior Master Instructor Michael Augsburger. Master Augsburger has 40 years of martial arts experience, has competed in many full contact tournaments and has an extensive training in accupressure therapy. Master Augsburger is certified by the World Chung Do Mu Sool Won Association ® and continues to train under the personal guidance of Grandmaster Hwang In-Mo.

Master Augsburger believes students learn best in a relaxed atmosphere were they develop at their own pace and attend class as often as they desire. As with most experiences, you get out of it what you put into it. Master Augsburger invites you to come and try a class anytime you wish. If you like what you see, you can come back and learn for a semester or learn for a lifetime.
