The Hancock Rotary is involved in many service projects for the community including youth athletic and scholarship support and charity benefits. Annually members organize the Halloween Parade, Children's Fishing Rodeo, and a Tri-state Basketball Shootout.
Rotary is an opportunity to build lifelong friendships and experience the personal fulfullment of providing volunteer service to others. An international organization of business and professional leaders, it provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and builds goodwill and peace in the world. It has over a million members world wide.
The world's first service club, Rotary began with the formation of the Rotary Club of Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 23 February 1905. 2005 is the centennial year for Rotary International. RI is the lead organization working to eradicate Polio worldwide by 2005.
