Guardian ad Litem

116 W Center St

Mission:

The mission of the N.C. Guardian ad Litem program is to provide trained, independent advocates to represent and promote the best interest of abused, neglected and dependent children in the state court system and to work expediently toward a plan that ensures that these children are in a safe, permanent home.

About Us:

Guardians ad Litem serve as the "voice" for abused and neglected children involved with the Department of Social Services. We are advocates for a child's best interest in the court system.  As a Guardian ad Litem, you conduct an independent investigation and then advocate for the child's needs and wishes in court.  Our goal is a safe, permanent home for every child in a timely manner.

The Guardian ad Litem program provides training at your convenience.  Our volunteers have a variety of professional, educational and ethnic backgrounds.  No special education or experience is necessary.

Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering or would like more information.
