Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce

10 Wilton Road
603-924-7234

About Us:

The Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce is the place to network with fellow business owners and members in the Greater Peterborough area. Our mission centers around "Enhancing the economic vitality and quality in the Monadnock Region." We welcome you and are working diligently to help you succeed in your business.

The Peterborough Board of Trade, founded in 1904, reactivated in 1974, became the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce in 1975. The name of the Chamber was changed to the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce in 1992 to indicate a broader range of membership within the Monadnock Region.

Your Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary partnership of business and professional people working together to build a healthy economy and to improve the quality of life in your community.

As your Chamber works to accomplish these goals, it wears many hats: economic developer and planner; tourist information center; business spokesperson; economic counselor and teacher; government relations specialist; human resources advisor; and public relations practitioner.

Simply stated, your Chamber is business and professional people working together to make your community a better place for everyone to live and work.

Your Chamber of Commerce is run by its members. They elect a Board of Directors that determines policies and sets goals. The Chairman presides over all Board meetings. Your chamber's day-to-day operations are handled by an Executive Director. Members often become involved in chamber activities by working on committees. These committees include Education, Business Support, Small Home Business, Retail, Tourism, Communications, Events/Seminar, The Arts Council and Ambassadors.

Objectives:

As it works to improve your community's economy and quality of life, your chamber keeps these broad objectives in mind:

- Help businesses prosper and grow.
- Increase job opportunities.
- Encourage an orderly expansion and development of all segments of the community.
- Contribute to the overall economic stability and quality of life of the community.

Our members reach as far as Keene, Leominster and Nashua. We represent the surronding towns in the Greater Peterborough area including Peterborough, New Hampshire, Jaffrey, Rindge, Dublin, Sharon, Temple, Antrim, Bennington, Fitzwilliam, Francestown, Greenfield, Greenville, Hancock, Harrisville, Mason, and New Ipswitch.
