Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, a non-profit, non-sectarian community hospital founded in 1961, has grown from one small building to a sprawling, 36-acre medical center campus. Gottlieb is best known for:

Emergency care as a Level II Trauma Center

Heart care, including open-heart surgery with outcomes among the best in the nation

An oncoloogy program, which is fully accredited by the American College of Surgeons' (ACS) Commission on Cancer, and includes radiation and chemotherapy provided by our affiliate, the Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Care Center, located next to the hospital

Neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery, both using the latest minimally invasive techniques

The promotion of fitness through Gottlieb Health & Fitness Center, the "healthier health club," which was the Midwest's first hospital-based fitness center when it opened in 1985.

Originally a four-story building with 122 beds, the hospital today has 250 beds, about 1,200 employees, more than 300 physicians and dentists on staff, and about 200 volunteers.

Besides the facilities listed above, the campus features a Professional Office Building (next to the hospital) that is home to about 100 physician offices, as well as Eye and Hearing Centers, and a retail Pharmacy. Next door is the Rehab Services building where outpatients go for Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies, Cardiac Rehab Phase II and Pulmonary Rehab. It also houses the Adult Day Center.

On the west side of the campus is the Emergency department with a heliport, the Cancer Center, a Kidney Dialysis Center, and headquarters for our Home Health and Hospice departments.

Some of the other major services offered at Gottlieb include a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, a Sleep Lab, and a Diagnostic Center that features the latest imaging equipment and a highly trained staff of doctors and technicians.

Women's health services include a Birth Center, which has private labor/delivery/recovery rooms and a staff of experienced OB/Gyn nurses as well as neonatologists. Additional women’s health services include a mammography department that ranks among the best in the nation at diagnosing breast cancer in its earliest stages, mammotome stereotactic breast biopsies, osteoporosis testing and educational programs.
