Germanton Elementary School is located in the southernmost area of Stokes County adjacent to the historic Germanton community. The school itself is situated in the midst of 60 acres of beautiful wooded land. Its location allows students the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor streams and recreational areas as well as the new addition added onto the school building in 1999. This addition added eight new classrooms to the existing building which houses ten large classrooms, a media center/technology lab, offices and a cafeteria and gym/auditorium.
Germanton currently serves 295 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade in all state-required curriculum areas, plus resource, speech and counseling services. The school is fortunate to have a dedicated staff who have addressed academic needs by raising test scores consistently each year while working hand-in-hand with the parents and community to ensure student success in personal growth as well. The small student-to-teacher ratio gives opportunities for a close relationship with each child, thus fostering a wonderful learning environment
