Building on the ownership of Gallerie Unique, a landmark fine art gallery at Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, owner Shelby Ward will be relocating, and taking ownership of Southwest Florida’s renowned Galerie du Soleil on “Gallery Row” in Naples. Many of the gallery’s original artists have been joined by a cadre of established and emerging artists from across the globe.

Shelby spent nearly thirty years in the fine art world, and she brings consummate experience, knowledge and vision to Galerie du Soleil.  After growing up in Palm Beach, she attended the Madeira School, then received a BA in Art History from the University of Southern California. Her impressive career has included work for Sotheby’s, as well as directing noteworthy fine art galleries in Los Angeles and Florida.  She has mounted significant one man shows for such luminaries as Ansel Adams, Arthur Secunda, Harry Jackson, Thomas McNight, Lyle Sopel, Muramasa Kudo, Erté and many others.

Galerie du Soleil has gathered original and limited edition works of art from renowned regional, national and international artists – an eclectic array of paintings and sculpture that appeal to a variety of tastes and purposes.  In addition to a large and diverse inventory on site, the gallery displays a thorough digital library of available pieces by each artist.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of Galerie du Soleil is its intrinsic design-savvy.  Shelby and her staff work closely with their clients to develop an artistic concept that is best tailored to their personal space.  They offer complimentary on site Art & Design consultations to ensure that clients choose works of art that not only express their collector vision, but best enhance their physical surroundings.

Galerie du Soleil offers a full range of art consultancy and custom framing services, and has extensive experience in managing public and private art collections. In addition, expert services also include managing site specific commissions, and collaborating with interior designers, architects and other trade professionals. Because many of the gallery’s artists can custom create originals or hand embellish limited edition giclées in a variety of sizes, the gallery offers works of art to gracefully enhance even the most unusual spaces.
