The Florence V. Evans School officially opened in 1955. Its namesake, Florence V. Evans, was a longtime teacher and principal in the district.The school has undergone several additions and renovations. In the summer of 2000, a new 5th grade wing was added. In the summer of 2004, a new playground was built, and the inside of Evans school has been constantly updated and refreshed.Our present student enrollment is approximately 575 students in grades kindergarten through fifth.

The school has the full time services of an art, music, computer, and physical education teacher. This provides the opportunity for integrated teaching units in addition to the regularly scheduled related art classes. The school also has the services of the following certified staff: nurse, guidance counselor, reading specialist, media specialist, speech teacher, resource room teacher, instrumental music teachers, and classroom teachers.
