Frostfire Farm

524 Beach Street
860-491-2272

Members pick up their shares at the growing field once a week, Tuesday or Friday; a variety of produce is included, plenty for a small family. Herbs, flowers, berries and small items like cherry tomatoes and snap peas may be "you pick" as part of the share.

January 2011 We farm a 5-acre field on one of the few remaining unpaved roads near our house in NW Connecticut. We grow berries, vegetables, herbs and flowers on a 1-acre (plus) plot. Our small flock of sheep provide compost for the garden and wool for handspinners and crafters. Fresh brown eggs are available from our cage-free hens.

All of our crops -including the flowers- are Certified Naturally Grown. We have grown sustainably since we began farming in 1997, and the farm was certified organic in 2002 (by NOFA-CT.) We have continued using organic practices since then. We participate in Certified Naturally Grown inspections and adhere to the NOFA Farmer's Pledge. Visitors to the farm are welcome on a moment's notice.
