Introduction:

Franklin Elementary is an ultra-modern center of learning for approximately four hundred students grades kindergarten through five. The average class size is twenty-one pupils per teacher.

Our school has a long tradition of educational excellence, dedicated to high standards and quality education. A well-rounded curriculum is provided, including art, music, physical education, speech and hearing classes, and a cross-categorical teacher to coordinate a learning disabilities program. We have a modern media center which is equipped with computers as well as a large selection of library books, supervised by a full-time certified librarian.

Many diverse methods are used in teaching our students: individualization, large and small group instruction, learning center approach, and peer group instruction.

All grades are self-contained classes. all grades are grouped within their own rooms to meet the individual needs of the students.

Franklin School participates in the city-wide spelling bee, besides hosting our own spelling bee, Young Author's Program and Fifth Grade Academic Challenge Bowl.

Individualized classes, Christmas and patriotic plays, girls' and boy's intramural basketball, special choir, patrol, field trips, and fifth grade awards day are extra curricular activities in which the students are involved during the year.
