For over 150 years in downtown Lafayette, the people at First United Methodist Church have faithfully strived to follow what Jesus said are the two greatest commandments - love God with all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. Through worship, study of the scriptures, caring for each other, and extending God's love beyond the church walls, we grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a great journey we are on and everyday we learn new ways to experience the gift of God's love for us.
