First Christian Church

61 Walnut Ridge Road
724-489-9014

The First Christian Church of Charleroi was established in 1890  Since then, the church has worshipped the Lord, Jesus Christ, and worked to serve Him by serving others -- both in our local community and beyond.  We are a member congregation of a mainline Protestant denomination known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The Disciples grew out of an indigenous frontier religious movement founded in what is now Bethany, West Virginia by Thomas and Alexander Campbell during the early 1800s.

As Disciples of Christ we claim the Holy Scriptures (The Bible) as our source of spiritual inspiration and moral instruction and celebrate the Lord's Supper (Communion) every Sunday at a Table that is open to all baptized believers, regardless of denominational affiliation.

As Disciples of Christ we welcome new members into our church family (1) by public confession of faith and baptism by immersion, and/or (2) by transfer of membership from another Christ-centered church.  In the case of "transfers," previous baptism by means other than immersion is recognized and accepted.

The First Christian Church of Charleroi, PA remains a steady, simple and caring "anchor" to those who claim it as their church home.  As a family & youth-oriented congregation, we share in each other's joys and sorrows, triumphs and struggles.  In an "anonymous" world, First Christian Church promises to call you by name!

When considering a new church home, please keep the First Christian Church of Charleroi in mind.  We invite you and your family to explore the many opportunities we provide for worship, fellowship, service and spiritual growth.
