Our Purpose & Mission

Our purpose is to worship and obey the Lord Jesus Christ by making disciples (Matthew 28:18-20).

Our mission is to help people know Christ personally, grow in Christ spiritually and go for Christ intentionally.

Our Vision

The vision of Tallapoosa First Baptist Church is to bring glory to God by helping every willing person to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.  We will encourage people to know Christ in personal salvation, challenge people to grow in Christ through Bible study, worship, prayer and fellowship, and deploy people to go for Christ through both local and foreign missions.

This vision will become reality as we reach people in the Tallapoosa area who do not regularly attend church.  We will love them, pray for them, provide for their needs as we are able, witness to them and invite them to worship, evangelistic events, Bible studies and fellowships.  We will put into place a functioning disciple making process where people can be encouraged, trained and developed into fully devoted followers of Jesus.  This process will begin with the basic beliefs and practices of Christianity and will strengthen believers toward spiritual maturity.     

As we pursue God’s vision for First Baptist Church we anticipate spiritual transformation in our homes, church and community.
