YOUTH PROGRAMS- Faithworks Compton will have several programs in which we will serve the youth of Compton. 

 

            ENTREPRENUERSHIP - Faithworks Compton will have a Youth Entrepreneur             program for children age 12-18, that will teach youth how to cultivate their business             skills and ideas into a full fledge small business that will sustain itself and generate a          positive income for its Young Entrepreneur.

 

            TURORING - Faithworks Compton will provide tutoring services for children at             Centennial High School in Compton, Dominguez High School in Compton, Compton         High School in Compton, Bunche Middle School and Whaley Middle School both in             Compton and children that are members of Faith Inspirational Missionary Baptist            Church            (FIMBC). 

 

            MENTORSHIP - Faithworks Compton will provide mentorship programs for children           enrolled at Centennial High School in Compton, Dominguez High School in Compton         Compton High School in Compton, Bunche Middle School, Whaley Middle School             both in Compton and children that are members of Faith Inspirational Missionary Baptist     Church (FIMBC).. This mentorship program will allow well known celebrities that have   come out of the City of Compton to mentor children to think of the possibilities that are   to come in their lives. 

 

COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS -  Faithworks Compton will also improve the streets of Compton by re-paving streets where there is a hazard such as missing asphalt and pot holes that have not been addressed by the city of Compton.

 

Ø  Adopt-A-Street program is designed for individuals, businesses and organizations to come together 4 times a year to clean up the streets of Compton.

 

                        ADOPT-A-STREET- Faithworks Compton plans to have an Adopt-A-Street                                     program by which individuals, families, small businesses and large corporations                            will Adopt-A-Street in Compton and begin to take ownership on keeping their                                  particular street clean 4 times per year giving them a sense of Pride.  This will                                help children and individuals think twice about littering, clean up awareness and a                sense of ownership in the community in which they live and work. 

Ø  Road Re-Paving in the city of Compton will be done in areas where roads are unsafe and cause road hazards.   

HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELPMENT PROGRAMS  

Ø  Housing for Low Income Families

Ø  Housing for Seniors

Ø  Teen Mothers

Ø  Safe Houses for X-Prostitutes   

Ø  Property acquisition in Compton which will consist of clearance, re-planning, rehab, sale and/or redevelopment.

Ø  Planning, financing and development of property improvements in the City of Compton.

Ø  Providing education, management support and community assistance for residents which will improve blighted areas of Compton.

Ø  Relocation assistance for families to Compton and from Compton.

Ø  Home Ownership Program and Pride Programs in Compton.

Ø  Rental/Lease Option to buy Programs in Compton.

                        RE-DEVELOPMENT- Faithworks Compton plans to purchase residential and                              commercial properties in the city of Compton, rehab, rent or resale based on the                            acquisition agreement.  We will teach home ownership pride and neighborhood                               pride. If properties are purchased through HUD and/or CHDO Programs which                                  request that we rent and sell, we will rent for the specified amount of time and sell                        as instructed.  If the home is acquired directly from the real estate market in                                  Compton we will rehab the house and rent them to low-income families with the                                  hopes of them one day being able to afford a lease option to buy program.

SOCIAL SERVICES

Ø  Health Care Navigation Access Services - Faithworks Compton's focus is to help Low-Income families in Compton gain access to, high quality, comprehensive, coordinated and continuous health care. Assisting individuals and families as they sign up for the Affordable Health Care Program.

 

Ø  Bill Pay Assistance - Faithworks Compton will provide Low-Income individuals and families who are in danger of or have already been shut off from their utilities.  We will help families with Gas, Electric and Telephone bills once in a 18 month period.

 

                        MOBILE FOOD BANK - Faithworks Compton plans to have a Mobile Food                                     Bank that will visit 2 different locations in Compton on a weekly basis to                                                distribute food to families in need. Faithworks will work in conjunction with all                          church and civic organizations to schedule their sites as the pick-up location                              throughout the year.

Ø  Clothing  - Faithworks Compton will have a Thrift Store uniquely designed for re-distribution of school uniforms for needy children that are required to wear uniforms to school in Compton.
