Faith Chapel

In the summer of 1978 SYRC decided to close down all of its outreach ministries other than the one in Eugene. Pastor Dave Di Yanni and his wife Roxanna had just moved here four months earlier, January 1st, to start pastoring the work. They were given the option to either close down or become an independent church. So on October 1,1978, with about 25 people, Faith Chapel was officially incorporated. The church met at a house on 8440 East Main St. As we grew we moved several times and rented a building from the Cotner’s Funeral Home on Main Street and then rented the auditorium at the Hannah Ashton Middle School. Our attendance at that time was about 70 people. We then purchased four acres on Palmer Road near Taylor Road and began building our own church building in August of 1985. On May 24, 1987 we held our first Sunday Service in the new building. We finished our Family Life Center on October 1, 1998. We added the back children’s wing January 2001. We are excited about the opportunities ahead of us and are determined to stay as flexible as possible to the guidance of the Holy Spirit as He continues to add to the church daily such as should be saved. Currently Faith Chapel is in the process of affiliating with the Vineyard Association of churches. This association has about 500 churches in the US and approximately 300 abroad. It is an association based on shared values and vision. If you would like to find out more about the Vineyard Association, you can look at the website, Vineyardusa.org.
