"The Mission of Fairfield Independent School District is to educate all children attending our school. All students will develop essential skills and a knowledge base on which to build lifelong learning."

FISD encompasses an area of 456 square miles in Freestone and Navarro counties with approximately 1,800 students in EE-12. The school district is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students with the latest in instructional technology available at each grade level. FISD offers above state base for teachers with a bachelor's degree or a master's degree plus full insurance benefits. Currently, FISD employs 280 employees.

Fairfield I.S.D. offers career and technology programs in vocational agriculture, home economics, business computer information systems, tech prep, and diversified career prep. Admission to these programs is based on interest, aptitude, age appropriateness, and class space available.
