WHY DO WE SING?

Simply put - we love to sing and entertain.

WHAT ARE WE?

We are an all men's singing organization, singing a cappella, four-part harmony.

WHO ARE WE?

The Emerald Coast Chorus is the local Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a worldwide fraternity of men's singing organizations. We have 800 chapters (over 25,000 men) in the Unites States with affiliates in nine other countries. 

WHY DO WE EXIST?

To entertain people of all ages, educate the public about a true American art form and to preserve this art form (Barbershop Singing) so our children can enjoy it in the future. Our type of singing is also one of the few American art forms that we, as Americans, exported to the rest of the world.  

This is a GREAT "hobby" a man can enjoy from the age of twelve well into his eighties. We have virtually no age limit. Young men under the age of eighteen are welcomed with written permission.

HOW DO WE SHARE OUR MUSIC?

• Student and School Music Outreach Program
• Free Community Performances (Example: Fourth of July, Billy Bowlegs, Xmas Tree Lighting)
• Free Private Singing Performances (Example: Hospitals, Retirement Homes, Churches, Non-profit Organizations)
• Paid Singing Performances (Example: Private parties & activities,  Annual Show Barbershop, Retreat Singing Valentines to your doorstep)

WHERE AND WHEN DO WE MEET? 

At the Shalimar United Methodist Church, # 1 Old Ferry Rd, Shalimar, FL 32579, every Thursday evening, 7:00 9:30 PM.

DO YOU NEED TO READ MUSIC?  

No. If you can carry a tune & love to sing, we can teach you the rest. We need all types of singers, experienced, amateur, and novice. We use a buddy system, have training sessions, sheet music, and learning CDs.
