About The Department :

The West Easton Fire Company is a volunteer organization contracted to provide fire protection to the Borough of West Easton. There are currently 22 active firefighters. We are funded primarily by our social hall which has approximately 2,300 members. Borough tax dollars pay for the utilities on the fire station, fuel for the vehicles, workmens' compensation insurance, rental fees to the Water Authority for the fire hydrants and money is budgeted for training and equipment.

We also receive a great deal of support from our ladies auxillary, they hold regular fundraisers to purchase equipment, hold an annual covered dish dinner, and assist us when we sponser training sessions at our station. They also bring refresments while we are operating at major incidents.

The fire company provides fire and rescue services to West Easton, as well as supporting community activities. Each year we hold a Halloween Parade for Borough children, patrol the streets handing out candy on trick-or-treat night, deliver Santa Claus to the municipal building on a firetruck for the Christmas party, contribute to the West Easton Scholarship Association, put on a fire safety or rescue demonstration during Community Day and our station is the polling place for governmental elections.

The Borough is approximately 1 square mile, and has roughly 1,163 residents living in 457 households. It is bordered to the South by the Lehigh River and Glendon Borough, the East by the City of Easton, the North and West by Wilson Borough.

We have a daytime simultaneous dispatch agreement with Palmer Municipal Fire Department to respond to confirmed fire calls and accidents with entrapment. We have mutual aid agreements with Palmer Municipal Fire Department, Williams Township Fire Company, Wilson Borough Fire Department, the City of Easton Fire Department and the Phillipsburg, New Jersey Fire Department. Beginning July 1, 2004 we will be simultaneously dispatched with Williams Township Fire Company on all reported fires and accidents with possible entrappment.
