NORC stands for Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities where neighborhoods have evolved into communities with a significant proportion of households headed by seniors. Researchers have identified more than 5,000 NORC communities throughout the country.  East Point is home to many individuals over age 60 who have lived in their homes for 20, 30, and 40 years.

A NORC is founded on the principles that individuals can live in their homes and communities throughout their lifetime with the support of their friends and neighbors.  The East Point NORC provides services that assist individuals in conducting their daily activities, and promotes programs that encourage seniors to get involved in their community.
