The police department proudly serves the residents of this rural community located about 14 miles west of the city of Worcester and 7 miles north of Sturbridge. Although the youngest and one of the smallest towns in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts this community is committed to thinking "big" when it comes to residential needs. A new multi-million dollar K thru 6 school has been constructed and plans are in the works to modernize the infra-structure by updating existing buildings with the possibility of a new public safety complex. Our location with easy access to Routes 9, 20, 49 and Route 90 the Massachusetts TurnPike make this area a prime target for increased residential as well as industrial commercial expansion. With cooperation and vision this small community is entering the new millenium with anticipation and the mission of the police department is to provide the residents with every service required to assist them to live safely and compete in this new environment.
