The Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District began in 1876, with all students in a one room schoolhouse. It has now grown to ten (10) schools, consisting of state-of-the-art elementary and middle schools. A new middle school, Creekview Ranch, serving the West Placer County portion of the district, opened August 2008. Although currently experiencing a slight decline in enrollment, it is anticipated that the District will grow for the next 10 years, eventually serving approximately 8,500 K-8 students.
