OUR HISTORY

Bishop Nathaniel C.B. Jones, Sr. preached his initial sermon on Sunday, March 2, 1975 in the Bible Way Church of Richmond, VA under the leadership of Bishop Christal T. Hairston. Two weeks later, Bishop Jones started ministering in his mother’s home.   Several moves took place beginning a month later when service moved to Downs Funeral Home in Crewe, VA. Then in 1978, services moved to the Fowlkes Store; Old Hickory Grove Baptist Church; back to Downs Funeral Home on November 14, 1981. On February 12, 1982 services moved to Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church, Crewe, VA. On May 7, 1982 we purchased land to build the church. In August 1984 we had groundbreaking and began construction on the church. We held our first service in our church building on November 4, 1984. ‹

In 1994, Road #630 was named in honor of our church- Bible Way Road. In 2001, the Lord gave Bishop Jones a vision of changing the church name from Community Bible Way Church to Dominion Worship Center. After toiling with the changing of the name, Bishop Jones obeyed and announced the name change to the church. The Lord spoke to Bishop Jones concerning new property and he searched for it, believing God was going to reveal it.
In August 2001, Evangelist Tracey Troy of Whiteville, NC was our guest speaker for revival. She gave a word of prophecy to Bishop Jones that the Lord was going to relocate and increase the ministry. Three weeks later, the property we now own came available. We pursued the property and the Lord even gave us the exact figure that we were to pay for the property. On October 11, 2001, the auction shut down with the exact figure the Lord had said. After planning for the Miracle Crusade with God’s Miracle Man, Bishop Clayton Johnson, God spoke to Bishop Jones to use the facility that He had given us. So in the two weeks before the crusade we worked diligently getting the place ready. And on February 23, 2003 we had our first worship service in our new facility on East Virginia Avenue.
