“”Introduction ”to the DVCH

The Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations,  like many of you when confronted with your injury you didn’t know where to turn and it became almost impossible to get around my home, so like everyone you had to turn to outside help in this matter.  Boy, little did you know how expenses and how time consuming it became; it can took over 2 years just to get a contractor that didn’t want to take an arm and a leg for their work.

In checking with the Department of Veterans Affairs to see if there was any assistance the DVCH found that they have a special program for veterans with specific categories of injuries due to service connected injury or illness, and that if you were eligible and would/could have a home built for you and your family.  These categories are as follows:

·         Debilitating injury such as loss of or loss of use of lower extremities,

·         Loss of or loss of use of upper extremities, (paraplegic and quadriplegic)

SC loss, or loss of use, of one leg plus SC loss, or loss of use, of one upper limb, or

SC loss, loss of use, of one leg plus disabling symptoms of another SC physical disease or injury.

·         Severe burns over greater than 70% of their bodies,

·         Blindness,

·         TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury),

·         ALS and many more that we will check for you.

So I said that there should be an easier way for us veterans to eliminate all this hassle, so I started a agency called Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing, our Board of Director’s are made up of veterans like ourselves and we have made the work of getting your home either remodeled or a newly accessible and affordable home built to your specification, due to your medical injury(s).

In conjunction with our outreach program, “Supportive Services for Homeless Veterans and their Families,” we feel it is our duty and obligation to serve the veterans who served our country with pride and honor, but returned home with a debilitating injury and/or are disabled. With the current economy, their homes, utilities and many others things may be or already are in jeopardy of becoming homeless or possibility of going into foreclosure.  We can only imagine what these veterans suffer each and every day.  DVCH is dedicated to improving their quality of life.

With the services that I provide which I will tell you that it does not cost you one red cent for what I do for you, the service is FREE, no I am not rich or win the lottery, but I am one of you a veteran that needs help and that’s why I do it.  I have organizations and companies that I have checked out and have found them to meet all the qualifications that are needed for the type of work that we have to do for you, they are as of followings and consist of:

·         Real Estate Agent/Certified Home Counselor and Funding Institutions,

·         Financial Institutions that handle all the matters of financing your project

·         Builder(s) are approved by the Veterans Affair Special Adapted Housing Section, that extremely important as he knows the proper housing needs,

·         Administrative Staff to take care of all the paperwork that is involved with a service of this type.

·         In conjunction with their local Department of Veterans Affair medical facility to schedule a home visit to see what medical equipment that the VA can supply to the veteran, at NO COST TO THEM.

Now, I will not do anything for you until you are ready for me and the members of my Committee to sit down with you and discuss the options that we can provide for you and your family, so I ask that if we are what you are looking at getting accomplished to get your INDEPENDENCE back as much as your medical condition will allow, then call me or anyone listed below depending on the area you located, and the Committee will be glad to come to you and explain our program.
