Delmar Volunteer Fire Department
About Us
The Delmar Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1993 and we started with a 1953 GMC Pumper. Now we have a 1975 Ford Pumper, a 1994 GMC Tanker, a 1974 Ford Tanker, 1986 E-One Pumper, and a 1989 Ford F250 Brush Truck. We have recently built another 30' X 40' fire station. We plan to build a new meeting area between the two buildings. We put 18 new firefighters on our department in 2005. We have accomplished all of this because of good community support and 30 great volunteer firefighters. We are a volunteer fire department that has fundraisers and collects fire dues to purchase this equipment. Winston County is one of the few counties in Alabama that does not have some type of tax money for fire departments. Any donations are appreciated.
