 The County Clerk is responsible for a wide range of duties mandated by Oklahoma State Statues. The County Clerk serves the public as official keeper of many county records. These records include real estate related filings, mortgages, and tax liens. As Registrar of Deeds, the County Clerk receives, records, and preserves these records, in many cases for perpetuity. In addition, the County Clerk serves in a number of other important functions, including:

-Secretary to the Board of County Commissioners: Posts agenda and keeps meeting minutes
-Secretary to the Excise Board: Receives all budgets submitted by cities, towns, and school districts in the County; presents budgets to the County Excise Board.
-Secretary to the Tax Roll Correction Board.
-Secretary to the Equalization Board.
-Provides Payroll functions for all County officers and departments. Processes pay claims for all elected officials and departments.
-Processes governmental tax reports.
-Provides Accounts Payable functions for all County departments. Encumbers and pays all County purchase orders for materials and services. All warrants paid and outstanding are balanced to the Treasurer's balances on a weekly basis.
-Prepares the County's Annual Financial Report. The Accounting department balances accounts and prepares the financial reports.
-Receives all claims filed against the County.
