Courage to Speak Foundation

71 East Avenue, Suite M
203-831-9700

The Courage To Speak Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to save lives by empowering youth to be drug free and encourage parents to communicate effectively with their children about the dangers of drugs. Ginger Katz founded the organization after her 20 year old son Ian James Eaccarino died of an accidental drug overdose. She and her husband Larry pledged that they would do all they could to prevent such a tragedy from befalling another family. Since then, Ms. Katz has given over 1000 riveting and educational presentations in schools, communities, and state and national conferences across the country.  She also has authored Sunny's Story, a drug prevention book for all ages - children, families and educators. The Foundation worked with teams of experts in the prevention field to develop programs for elementary, middle and high school students taught in many schools by classroom teachers and Courageous Parenting 101 - a course for parents to give them knowledge and skills to keep their children safe from drugs - available in English and Spanish.
