Concordia Area Chamber Of Commerce

802 South Gordon Street
660-463-2454

The mission of the Concordia Area Chamber of Commerce is "to advance the commercial, industrial, civic, agricultural and general interest, welfare and property of the Concordia area, by coordinating, promoting and publicizing all efforts to accomplish these aims."

To accomplish this mission, the Chamber conducts several projects of its own, and also cooperates with the city's Parks and Recreation Department in other ventures.

With the future of the community in mind, the Chamber has initiated a scholarship program. This gives two scholarships annually, currently worth $750, to residents of the Concordia R-2 School District who are continuing with, or returning to, further education or training that may ultimately benefit Concordia, directly or indirectly. These scholarships are funded by the Chamber's annual Scholarship Golf Classic, a tournament with a four-person-scramble format held at the local Tri-City Country Club and sponsored by local businesses.

The Chamber offers a number of benefits to its members, most of which are extended to the community at large at only a slightly higher price than to members. Among these benefits are World's of Fun tickets at deeply discounted prices and renting out the Chamber's mobile display unit. The Chamber runs a city-wide gift certificate program selling gift coupons, through the two banks and Patricia's Foods, that can be used exactly like cash at any business in Concordia.

The Chamber also cooperates with the city's Parks and Recreation Department in bringing tourism to Concordia. The two jointly sponsor a mens softball tournament and pool party in the summer and collaborate in activities at the Community Center like a bridal show and outdoor expo.
