Community Bible Church

4831 Long Beach Road
910-368-1696

We are an non-denominational Christian Church. Our doors are open to those who truly seek God's direction in their lives and wish to worship and work alongside those of like mind.

DRESS: Our concern is not about your outward appearance so whether you are comfortable in a shirt and tie, 3 piece suit or jeans and a t-shirt, you are welcome.

MUSIC: You will find a mix of traditional hymns, Praise and Worship and Contemporary music throughout the service.

TEACHING: Our sermons are practical messages that can be understood by all ages. We believe strongly that God's word and growth in faith should be a family affair, therefore, we do not separate the family during worship and teaching time in the sanctuary. We welcome children of all ages to participate with their parents in worship, learning God's word and in fellowship.

Pastor Jay and Teresa Parkman live in Oak Island and have been ministering together for nearly 20 years. Originally from the Northeast, Pastor and Teresa have two teenage sons, Dylan and Elijah. Although the family was not born in the South, Pastor is quick to point out that, "We got here as fast as we could!"

Their approach to pastoral ministry is found deeply rooted in the Bible, filled with honesty, love, and humor, in a genuine homespun feel. Pastor Jay often emphasizes that he enjoys, "doing church the way we used to with a beach community feel". As a result, much of the activities at CBC reflect an earlier time, akin to "the simple, country church" many love and remember.

Both Pastor and Teresa can be found involved with most every aspect of ministry, both in leadership and in supporting the gifts that God has given others as they lead. They are available for coffee and a chat just about any time, and love to see God working in and through His people.
