Clarkesville Elementary Believes That:

The purpose and focus of schools is to create practical, meaningful, and challenging work for students that will result in all students being successful and experiencing a sense of satisfaction.

The ability of students to learn is limitless when given the right environment, teachers with high expectations, and support of family and community.

The factors that determine the opportunity to learn include a positive environment where children feel safe and secure, leaders who provide meaningful and relevant work, and involvement of the family.

The role of the family and community in relation to students and in relation to schools is to provide support.

The kind of society for which children are being prepared is a global information-based society that is rapidly changing and requires creative thinkers and problem solvers.

The rules, roles, and relationships that should govern behavior within schools, between schools and the district-level office, and between schools and the community should be a collaborative effort agreed upon by consensus with the goal of doing what is best for children.

The obligation of the system to employees and the role of the system in encouraging and supporting improvement is to provide leadership, staff development, support and encouragement, trust, focus on vision, resources, and commitment to change in order to achieve the system’s mission.
