City Of Logansport

601 East Broadway

Logansport, Indiana, is a diverse community of 20,000 residents, is nestled in a valley surrounded by picturesque farms with acres of rich farmland. The Wabash and Eel Rivers converge near our downtown. On the banks of the Wabash is the expanding Little Turtle Waterway Plaza and trail, while a national historical landmark is located on the banks of the Eel River in beautiful Riverside Park. The hand carved 42 animal Gustav Dentzel Carousel was brought to Logansport in 1919 and many visitors have experienced reaching for the brass ring to secure a free ride on this magnificent piece of art.

Logansport also boasts a park system with nearly 300 acres of park land including an 18-hole golf course and many smaller neighborhood parks. Only 4 miles west of Logansport is beautiful France Park featuring fishing and swimming lakes, hiking and biking trails, and camping areas.

Logansport is ideal for business and industry because of its proximity to key Indiana and Illinois cities such as Indianapolis and Chicago. Community leaders, including the Logansport/Cass County Chamber of Commerce, Logansport/Cass County Economic Development Foundation, Logansport City Council and the mayor's office, are currently pushing for completion of the Hoosier Heartland Corridor from Fort Wayne to Lafayette.

Our community boasts a center of regional excellence in healthcare as well as our own municipal utilities, industrial park and airport -- and we are continually striving to improve these assets. Our municipal airport is expanding, with a new administration building and a runway lengthened to 5,000 feet to accomodate larger aircraft. Our county-owned hospital is always improving and adding qualified staff to give Cass County residents the best possible healthcare opportunities. Additionally, our local educational leaders have shown their commitment to the business community by constructing a new Century Career Center where students can get hands on experience as they prepare for the future. Government leaders and volunteers in this diverse community are working together to improve our infrastructure, including our main thoroughfare and our downtown. And, thanks to the initiative of the Clerk-Treasurer, we are also one of the few cities in Indiana to make public documents available online.

Logansport has a 43-person full-time fire department that is equipped and trained as well as any community fire department in Indiana. We also boast a 44-person police department and a street department with 14 dedicated employees, caring for nearly 110 miles of city streets.

This Cass County seat offers several festivals and parades at different times of the year. The newest effort is the "Light Up Logansport Parade" in November. It features beautifully decorated floats that are paraded through downtown Logansport and then put on display during the holidays at the Little Turtle Waterway Plaza Park.
