About Us :

Gray is centrally located for easy traveling to all parts of Georgia. Highways from Monticello, Eatonton, Gordon, Macon and Milledgeville converge in the center of Gray.
The City of Gray became the county seat of Jones County in 1905 and was chartered in 1911. The city was named after James Madison Gray, who helped finance the Confederacy during the Civil War.

At one time a small rural community, we now find our fair city bursting at the seams. This phenomenal growth we've experienced is not uncommon in Georgia. Growing pains can be felt in almost every municipality throughout the state.

With this growth comes a demand to "expand horizons." The creation of this web page is our attempt to "expand" technically. We welcome your suggestions and input to help us improve the way our community stays informed. If you have a site that is pertinent to the City of Gray, please email the site administrator or the city and request a link.
