Church of the Redeemer

717 North Stapley Drive
480-833-7500

The Church of the Redeemer is an independent Evangelical and Reformed congregation committed to the gospel of Christ Jesus as it was proclaimed by the Apostles, preserved by the Holy Spirit, and reclaimed by the Reformation.

This Statement of Faith is not intended to define the boundaries of our fellowship. Some Christians will certainly differ with some of what is set forth here. Such Christians are nevertheless welcome to fellowship with us. Our basis for fellowship is a biblical confession of the lordship of Jesus Christ and the absence of a scandalous lifestyle.

The Statement of Faith represents the doctrinal understanding of each member of the Board of Elders and the teaching and preaching of the Church shall reflect this understanding.

As a body of reformational evangelicals, we seek to display our unity in truth with other faithful churches, not only in the present, but also with the historic Christian church throughout the centuries.

The Statement of Faith, which is subordinate to the Holy Bible consisting of the Old and New Testaments, consists of the reformed faith, as set forth in the following documents: (i) Westminster Confession of Faith, Larger Catechisms and Shorter Catechisms; (ii) the Three Forms of Unity (The Canons of Dordt, the Belgic Confession and the Heidelberg Catechism); (iii) the Second London Confession; (this statement of Faith refers to items (i) through (iii), collectively, as the “Confession Documents”). In particular, the Statement of Faith consists of all sections of the Confession Documents except for any two or more sections of the Confession Documents that are in conflict or otherwise inconsistent.

To accommodate variances in belief among Members in matters of doctrine, yet remain within the confines of the historical reformed faith, each elder shall embrace, uphold and adhere to the Statement of Faith. Each Member is expected to be in general agreement with and abide by the Statement of Faith.
