Chesnee First Baptist Church is an autonomous (self-governing) congregation who is affiliated on the local level with the Spartanburg County Baptist Network, on the state level with The South Carolina Baptist Convention, and on the national level with The Southern Baptist Convention. Church membership is a matter of receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord through a profession of faith and experiencing believer's baptism by immersion.

Chesnee First Baptist Church holds to the Southern Baptist statement of generally held convictions called
