In 1936, as an outgrowth of a small Bible study group, Cherry Ridge Baptist Church was constituted. Those who helped to organize the church had a strong desire for a Bible believing and Christ-centered congregation on the North side of Bastrop. Since that time, Cherry Ridge has been involved in a ministry of outreach and spiritual growth to people of Bastrop and Morehouse Parish.

At Cherry Ridge, from the babies in the nursery to the oldest member, each program is geared to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the years since its humble beginning, the complex has grown to include 6 buildings, 3 full-time staff and 2 bi-vocational staff members. There have been 2 decades of live television broadcast of the Sunday morning service and several nights of rebroadcast of the service and other church programs. At the present time we help sponsor two mission churches in South Louisiana and Missionaries in various parts of the world.
