The intent of the Central New York Veterans Parade (CNYVP) is:

To honor and pay tribute to all Central New York Veterans.

To provide the Central New York community with an opportunity to honor the dedication and service of these brave men and women.

To include and encourage participation by any and all Veterans, Veterans' organizations, committees, sub-groups, councils, chapters, posts and auxiliaries (hereafter "Veterans' Groups") in the Central New York region.

To support and complement existing Veterans' ceremonies, tributes, and memorial services, and not compete with any other observances.
