About Us
Our Mission is to help those in need
The Central Kitsap Food Bank began as a church pantry in Tracyton, WA in 1989. Moving to its current location next to Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale in 1992, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. We serve those who live or work in the Central Kitsap School District.
We are a local, independent food bank and partner with seven local food banks and several hot meal programs to maximize the generous donations from the community.
In 2009, we served 612,226 pounds of food to 24,000 individuals in 7,269 households.
We are the lead agency for a federal food program called Commodities Supplemental Food Program; as such, we served and/or delivered 30+ pounds of additional food to 275-300 low-income seniors and children each month.
